This weekend was AMAZING! I could not be happier. Thursday night, after finishing the last second of finishing touches on my capstone gallery I ran up to be recognized by the Service Learning Institute for my work on the National Steinbeck Center piano. Friday morning I kicked off the Visual and Public Art "\a-se-'metrik\" presentations.
I had the opportunity to take all of my family members around to visit my classmate's galleries. There was tons of positive feedback. It was so rewarding to have my art on display and to have such a large audience seeing it! The VPA Department hosted a department only graduation for the 31 of us. There were a couple of speakers then they presented each of us flowers and a pin to wear on our gown. It was so lovely! I was incredibly moved by the opportunity for our faculty and staff to present themselves to our friends and family, because they have so much been our friends and family up until that day. Then afterwards we took some time down in Pacific Grove hanging around the house.
Saturday was the CSUMB graduation ceremony. We all got dressed up in our funny outfits and lined up in the sun. It was beautiful weather. None of us expected that so my audience was pretty sunburnt by the end.
I only had a few close friends I wanted to see, and I was lucky enough to find almost everyone before the ceremony began. Afterwards we met up at the art gallery with Matt and his family, Fiance, and Donna. Everyone had a chance to see the art who hadn't been yet. Then we all went back to open my special Mesa Del Sol Zinfandel, the champagne and have tasty Italian catered in.
